In the under 84kg Division (middleweight) Paul Thompson took 3rd place with a 3 win - 2 loss record on the day, being unlucky to miss out on being in the final being submitted by heel hook by the eventual winner
In the under 77kg Division (welterweight) Ben Langton also took 3rd place with a 4-2 record, having to fight fellow training partner Tony Low who was 2 wins and 2 losses (both wins via submission to choke) to decide who would proceed to the semi finals where Ben was eventually eliminated after a a strong showing.
Stephan Luther showed great submission defense in his first competition however was eliminated by judges decision after 2 bouts that ended without a submission.
Great experience for the lads and we look forward to further competitions in 2011!
Blood testing service for athletes
Iron Underground is proud to announce the introduction of an exclusive new service for its members. Blood testing can reveal underlying health problems, as well as hormonal status which may not be optimal for muscular development.
In association with Healthscope Pathology, we have arranged to have our clients tested in a comprehensive manner by Australia’s largest nationwide Pathology service with over 600 centres throughout SE Asia. This coverage allows us to offer this service Australia wide.
Hormonal profiling can detect high cortisol, low IGF-I, low testosterone and thyroid function, all of which will not allow for optimal growth. General health screening looks at blood cell types and shape, liver and kidney function, lipid studies and iron studies, electrolytes and glucose.
