"I'd just like to start by saying that Paul from Iron Underground has taught me what real STRENGTH is! I came from a Crossfit/Kettlebell background when I entered the fitness industry and although this was a great start I ended up wanting to be stronger, in particular with my 4 main lifts (Deadlift, Squat, Overhead Press and Bench). At the time I thought deadlifting 120kg was a good effort but as do most Crossfitters I ended up injuring my lower back through high reps and poor technique which deterred me from doing any deadlifts or squats over 60-80kg ever again. As I became more experienced, I left the Crossfit "society" and branched into metcon and kettle bell training with some great results but still not satisfied with my relative strength. Lucky for me that's when my very smart wife started to look around locally for a trainer that could help her in either Olympic lifting or powerlifting which brought her to Paul. After several months of listening to her tell me how good Paul was as a trainer and hearing of her quick gains I decided to head down there and give it a go. All I can say is that from Paul's guidance I went from what I thought was heavy (120kg) to doing 165kg (1rm) on my first session without hurting my back which led me to further continue my training with Paul. Within several months under Paul's watchful training I was lifting 190kg in 3 sets of 3 and feeling very confident in my back and a lot stronger in all my lifts. I am forever grateful for what Paul has done for me and my wife as we now can confidently say that we are strong and well educated thanks to Paul. Thanks heaps mate!"
